what's new

I'll have work in a group show at  White Space Gallery, Totnes, Devon, called “Quintet”, from 28th March-26th April

I'm currently working hard on new work for a solo show at the John Davies Gallery in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire. The work will be based on painting trips to Pembrokeshire, where I was blown away by the extraordinary landscape - the coast with its promontories and headlands, rivers and estuaries, the Preseli Mountains, and ancient archaeological sites... The exhibition begins with a private view weekend on the 3rd-4th May.

Some other dates in May...

From 2nd-8th May, Josephine Harpur will be showing my work in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

White Space Art is taking my work to the prestigious 20/21 International Art Fair at the Royal College of Art, Kensington, London, from 15th-18th May.

I'm showing new work in a joint show at Hilton Fine Art, Bath with an artist I very much admire, Angela Charles.

Do let me know if you'd like private view invitations to any of these shows.

In the press...

I was delighted to receive a couple of press mentions for the painting selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition last year. The first was by Andrew Lambirth in The Spectator

In The Mail on Sunday, Philip Henscher wrote: "In [The Lecture Room] I enjoyed Louise Balaam's  White Light in March II,  which is given the honour of rubbing up against works by distinguished Royal Academicians such as Ken Howard..."

Recently, one of my paintings was featured in an American blog,  Habitually Chic
